3 Flea Control Tips

Fleas are small pests that can get onto you from anywhere, attaching themselves to your socks, shoes or clothing, or even your pets, then they come into your home with you or your pet. 1. Control The Fleas In Your Yard

Control the fleas in your yard to help get rid of them in your home as well. If you have a flea problem in your yard, you're going to get them again in your home as well. Kill the fleas in your yard by sprinkling a granular pesticide in your yard, or you can spray a pesticide into your yard. Use a pesticide that is made to help control fleas. Don't use any type of pesticide around your pets or children and allow the pesticide to dry completely or for the dust to settle before you allow either to go back outside into the yard. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the pesticide that you choose to use.

2. Use A Pesticide Inside  

Use a pesticide inside your home that is made for inside the home. If you have a major flea issue, you should consider using a bug bomb. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using the bug bomb and use several if you have a lot of square footage to cover. There are other types of pesticides you can use inside as well, be sure to follow the instructions on how to use them as well.

3. Vacuum Carpeting And Upholstered Furniture

You'll need to vacuum your carpeting often and your furniture as well. Empty the canister of your vacuum outside of your home to be sure fleas that may still be alive inside the canister do not escape back into your house. Seal the contents of the canister in a plastic garbage bag that you seal tightly, then toss it into a garbage can outside of your home. Vacuum daily until you are rid of the fleas in your home.
