Staying Safe Around Pest Control

Bed Bugs Biting You When You Sleep? What You Should Do About It

Bed bugs are small reddish-brown pests that will bite you and feed off of your blood, filling up with your blood and then wiping your blood everywhere they end up moving around your home. They'll leave blood smears on your walls, on your bedding and on your furniture as well. If you have bed bugs in your home, you may not notice them right away, but you'll notice them eventually. By this time, it may be too late and you may have an infestation. If you have bed bugs in your home and you're finding bite marks on your body, read on for what you need to do.

Set Traps On The Legs Of Your Furniture

You can set traps around the legs of your furniture, such as the legs of your bed or the legs of your sofa and tables. Place a shallow bowl or use an interceptor trap around the legs of your furniture, which allows bed bugs to get inside, but they aren't able to get out of them. You can place them around all of your furniture to keep them from climbing up onto the furniture or into your bed.

Sprinkle Diatomaceous Earth

If you sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the edges of the rooms of your home, it will kill these pests. When the bed bugs crawl through it, it will dehydrate them and kill them. Diatomaceous earth is safe to use in your home and is safe to use around pets and children. You can use it in any room of your home to help get rid of these pests.

Vacuum Often And Remove Clutter

These pests can be hiding in the clutter around your home, so remove the clutter from your floors and the piles you have lying around, and vacuum everything you can in your home. After you vacuum, empty the canister outside to prevent these bugs from crawling out of your garbage can and getting back into your home. Vacuum your home daily to help get rid of the pests you have.

Use A Bug Bomb

Set off a bug bomb in your home to kill these or other pests that you may have. These bug bombs can be very effective, although they can be a lot of work to use. Once you set one off, you'll have to allow the house to air out and you'll have to vacuum everything, as well as wipe down all hard surfaces in your home.

If you have bed bugs biting you at night, you may have an infestation on your hands. Hire a bed bug exterminator to help you get rid of these pests.
